Bjarne Wernicke Olesen
Bjarne Wernicke Olesen teaches courses in Sanskrit and Indian religions at Aarhus University where he is building up a new research unit for South Asian Religion (sar.au.dk) in collaboration with the OCHS. He is currently undertaking doctoral research in the area of Hindu ‘Śāktism’ and working on the Śākta Traditions project at the OCHS together with Prof. Gavin Flood (www.ochs.org.uk/research/sakta-traditions). This year he published an introduction to Sanskrit in two volumes called Language of the Gods: Classical Sanskrit in Danish in order to promote Sanskrit studies within the Study of Religion in Denmark and Scandinavia. He is also working on a translation of the Haṭhayogapradīpikā with an introduction.
