Scholarship Appeal for US & Canadian Students

Due to a lack of scholarships for North America, a number of US and Canadian students are unable to secure funding to pursue their studies at the OCHS. The Development Council has taken up this initiative to raise funds for additional scholarships.

In this regard, the help of North American alumni and business friends is sought, through the Development Council. The OCHS will assume the final responsibility of the management and dissemination of all the funds.

Newly admitted students from the North America generally depend upon a number of funding sources. These sources include full scholarships such as those granted by the Rhodes Trust and the Shell Scholarship. The other option is acquiring funding from various donors at the same time. Such donor bodies sometimes include college bursaries. In these lines, either fully funded scholarship schemes can be created, according to the desires of the donor(s) or partial donations can be acquired that will augment existing funding channels. In both cases, proper selection criteria and procedures will be laid out, in consonance with the wishes of the donors. For example, the name of the funding can commemorate a particular luminary or loved one or the funding could be subject specific and so on.
