Internships
The Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies offers non-stipendiary internships to young people who want to make a positive contribution.
Our internships offer an opportunity to work at a wide variety of tasks with a chance to engage with useful contacts in academia, the media, religious organisations, a variety of communities, and business.
OCHS internships offer you an opportunity to develop life-skills and they make a good addition to your CV.
The working environment is friendly and supportive and internships can be moulded to fit any skill set you wish to develop.
| Skill set | Example |
| Marketing: | Increasing enrolments in Adult education courses |
| Increasing awareness of OCHS among Oxford University students | |
| Project management: | Helping to develop the Bhumi project, creating Hindu responses to environmental change |
| Technical: | Website and database development |
| Archiving: | Cataloguing a specific archive collection |
| Library: | Assisting in cataloguing the OCHS library of approximately 6000 books |
| Editing: | Fine tuning course materials |
| Fundraising: | Helping to increase the effectiveness of our Friends groups |
| Helping to develop our Endowment Campaign | |
| Administration: | Helping to document and refine working practices in the OCHS offices |
Previous interns at the Centre have gone on to great things. Our latest intern went on to become a leading member of the Bhumi Project – a UN project to develop Hindu responses to environmental concerns – directly as a result of his work at the OCHS.
