Internships

The Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies offers non-stipendiary internships to young people who want to make a positive contribution.

Our internships offer an opportunity to work at a wide variety of tasks with a chance to engage with useful contacts in academia, the media, religious organisations, a variety of communities, and business.

OCHS internships offer you an opportunity to develop life-skills and they make a good addition to your CV.

The working environment is friendly and supportive and internships can be moulded to fit any skill set you wish to develop.

Skill set Example
Marketing: Increasing enrolments in Adult education courses
Increasing awareness of OCHS among Oxford University students
Project management: Helping to develop the Bhumi project, creating Hindu responses to environmental change
Technical: Website and database development
Archiving: Cataloguing a specific archive collection
Library: Assisting in cataloguing the OCHS library of approximately 6000 books
Editing: Fine tuning course materials
Fundraising: Helping to increase the effectiveness of our Friends groups
Helping to develop our Endowment Campaign
Administration: Helping to document and refine working practices in the OCHS offices

Previous interns at the Centre have gone on to great things. Our latest intern went on to become a leading member of the Bhumi Project – a UN project to develop Hindu responses to environmental concerns – directly as a result of his work at the OCHS.
