Nehru Centre talk: In Praise of the Kena Upanishad

Nehru Centre Event
Thursday, 20 June 2013 - 6:30pm
Nehru Centre
8 South Audley Street
London, W1K 1HF
A talk by Dr Nick Sutton of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies
The Kena is one of the shorter Upanishads and its teachings are not widely known. It does, however, offer an important insight into the way in which philosophical teachings are propagated and the question of authority and leadership in religion. In this talk we will reflect on the specific ideas encountered within the Kena Upanishad and the wider implications of its teachings.
