Indian Culture in the Modern World
A series of three lectures on the practice, relevance and
application of Indian & Hindu tradition today
The purpose of this series is to provide a forum of discussion and reflection on issues of religious identity, thought and practice in an Indian context. We would like to help create awareness of the essence of Indian culture, spirituality, history and the arts and explore how they may be relevant and applicable in contemporary Britain.

Western Perceptions of Indian Culture: An historical overview of
how the West has interpreted and misinterpreted. Indian culture
through the ages.
Lecture 2: Wed 15th May (7:30pm)
What's a Hindu?: The term 'Hindu', where it comes from and what
it represents. Looking at the fundamental principles, values, culture
that we may call Hindu.
Lecture 3: Wed 23rd Oct (7:30pm)
"So you want to marry my Daughter?": Examining issues
of caste, its origins,history and how we live it today.
